Creative Storytelling Sessions

In my Creative Storytelling Sessions, I invite youth to bring their imaginations, slang, and lived experiences right to the center of the page. We build characters who sound like them, neighborhoods that look like theirs, and plots that wrestle with issues they care about. I use games, oral storytelling, and quick-write challenges so even reluctant writers find themselves talking and then suddenly writing. Many of these stories later grow into full manuscripts inside my youth author programs, where a simple "once upon a time" can become a published book that changes how a child sees themself forever.
